August in a nut shell.
Jennikah got baptised! We are so proud of her. She is such a sweet girl. I just love her to pieces. The girls love getting to watch baptisms. I can't believe that we will be baptising Ashlynn in less than 5 months. Time sure flys. It seems to me that when your children hit milestones in their lives, you really start to realize how
Anthony and I got a new king sized bed! We loved our queen mattress but decided that we REALLY needed the space so we can get good sleep. Since we love our queen, we just couldn't part with it, and Alyssa needed to get out of the crib, so we put it in Alyssa's room and told her that she was getting a new "queen" bed. She slept like a rock from night one!... and that was the only thing I was worried about when we decided to move her. Plus, moving her straight to a queen, there was less chance she would fall out of bed.
Alyssa has found a show that she is OBSESSED with. Ni hao Kai Lan. She could eat it, drink it, sleep it if we'd let her. Anyway, I bought her this Kai Lan outfit when I was school shopping for the older girls and now she's obsessed with it too. The first few weeks after I bought it, that is all she would wear! She would wake up in the morning and that was the first thing she would do. She was on the hunt for her Kai Lan shirt. She would dig through dirty laundry, go through the dryer and if she couldn't find it, cause I started hiding it, she would cry and cry till I finally gave in. It's just an outfit right?? She wore it 3 days in a row the first week and it was covered in spaghetti sauce, you can even see it if you look closely at this picture!
Alyssa loves to get up on the counters. We have spanked her butt so many times but it doesn't seem to phase her. One morning I came into the kitchen and she was hiding in the cupboard eating marshmallows! What a stinker!
One day the girls came running in the house telling me that some boys outside had a lizard with a blue tail. I thought, "are you sure, the only blue tailed lizard I know of around here with in 100 miles is the blue tailed skink, and they would have had to get that in Pine Valley or on Cedar mountain." So, sceptically, I went out front and sure enough, the had a skink... and 3 or 4 geckos. immediately I thought of Colby and the tears followed. It brought back so many memories and I couldn't help but be saddened. The girls would have LOVED him. They love lizards and snakes and creepy crawly bugs.Seeing my girls hold these geckos makes me want one.
While the girls were taking turns holding the lizards, I looked over to my right and saw this pretty rainbow. It hadn't rained that day, and actually the day was rather hot, but there must have been just enough moisture in those few little clouds above the rainbow for it to appear, but it made me remember that it's okay that Colby is gone. I will see him again. I love rainbows. They have so much meaning to them.
Hailey lost her very first tooth the morning of her first day of Kindergarten! Isn't she soo stinkin cute?! I just love her. She is such a bubbly ball of happiness. I wish I could borrow some of her enthusiasm and energy. She makes our little family so lively!
August was a good month. School started and we got to go school shopping with the girls. It is fun to see that things that they are into and think are cute. Hailey just had to have a pair of "Twinkle Toes!" I never would buy them for her because they are normally $40 shoes! But I found the cutest pair at Kohls on clearance for $8!!!! I couldn't believe it! Anthony has never wanted her to have them because he thinks they're ugly, they are all sparkly and girly, but as soon as he saw her in them and how happy she was, he couldn't help but smile. He even admitted when she wore them one day that they were cute with her outfit. Even Grandpa Vick commented on how dang cute she looked! Hailey is one stylish cookie!
I am so glad that school started. I have been having fun being home with Alyssa. She is such a sweet heart. It's good to be able to spend a few months with just her during the afternoon before the baby comes... which is soon... and I can't wait!

Guess What It Is!!
Well, we went in for our Ultra Sound! The girls were pretty excited... heck, we all were! We couldn't wait to find out what we were going to have... if it was going to be another sister, or this little boy we all feel we need in our family.
And if you can't tell what this is......
IT'S A BOY!!!
We were all so happy! My doctor, Tracy, told us what it was and Anthony just kept saying,
"No... Really?... Are you sure?..."
Then she pointed everything out to us and there was NO denying it. We were FINALLY getting our Aiden Stuart! The girls are very excited and can't wait for him to get here... we all can't.
Here's the next, "Guess what it is."
Hailey always wakes up before anyone else does.
She comes in my room, uses the bathroom, and then asks if she can quietly watch cartoons.
One morning when I came out to the living room this is what I found...
At first I was mad, but then I started laughing and asked her what in the heck she was doing.
"Making flutes mom. Duh," is what she told me.
I have to hand it to her, she is the most creative child I have ever met!
At least I didn't need those items for a long while... cause she opened about 20 of them! If I had needed them desperately, I might not have been so amused by her creation.
What a girl!

2011 Trip to Ephraim
Aug 29 - July 1st Anthony had a conference up in Ephraim. Ephraim is THE SMALLEST town. I really think that is Snow's College wasn't there, they wouldn't survive! Really.
The Manti temple is so beautiful. It is amazing up there on that hill. We never did get to walk around it though. The rain wouldn't stop. Some day I would love to go through it.
We, as a family, don't eat out much so that was probably the funnest thing for the girls. I think they thought it was pretty awesome getting to eat out so much and being able to stay in a hotel!
All in all it was a fun family vacation. The girls have never stayed in a Hotel before and it was good to get away before Anthony started a new school year of teaching. I think that we need to do something like that with them every year.
This is just a random picture of Alyssa.
What a cutie.
