I don't want to drive up to the pearly gates in a shiny sports car, wearing beautifully, tailored clothes, my hair expertly coiffed, and with long perfectly manicured fingernails. I want to drive up in a station wagon that has mud on the wheels from taking kids to scout camp. I want to be there with grass stains on my shoes from mowing Sister Schenck's lawn. I want to be there with a smudge of peanut butter on my shirt from making sandwiches for a sick neighbor's children. I want to be there with a little dirl under my fingernails from helping to weed someone's garden. I want to be there with children's sticky kisses on my cheeks and tears of a friend on my shoulder. I want the Lord to know I was really here and that I really lived."

My Three Mothers

I feel so blessed to have Anthony and the girls in my life. I am so blessed to have the opportunity to raise three healthy beautiful girls. I am so blessed to have a mother that taught me, through example, how to be a good mother, and that she is now an example in my own children's lives. I am so blessed to have a mother-in-law that raised up a little boy, who is now the man I call my husband. I am blessed that she is also another great exemplar in my children's lives. I am blessed that I have a Heavenly Mother who, I am sure, we get our motherly instincts from. We may not remember her, but I am sure that her love for us has left an unforgettable impression, upon our spirits, that helps us be the kind of mother that she would have us be. I hope that I can, some day, be more like them all!

A Wonderful Day

Yesterday Anthony and the girls took me out to dinner to Chilli's for Mothers Day! After we went to Walmart and while I was in the check out line Anth wondered off with the girls. All of a sudden I hear 'Surprise! Happy Mothers Day!' They had went and bought me the most beautiful red roses!

The Crib

A few weeks ago we decided that Alyssa was getting a little to big to be in the bassinet so we started putting her in the crib. She did really well for two nights and then came down with a cold so we brought her back into our room. I have been putting her in the crib for naps though because as soon as she's over her snotty, stuffy nose it's back to the crib for her!

Alyssa's First Meal!

Alyssa loves her baby food! When Mom Mackley was up here, she gave her a piece of french bread and she died and went to heaven. When mom would take it out of her mouth she would freak out! So the next day we went out and bought her some baby food. Now,... I know that some may think, 'what the heck, she's only 4 months!' But she was so ready. When we would sit up to the table to eat together, she would get so mad. Even if I was just holding her in my lap, she would stop crying. She loves her food and is doing so well with it!

Anth And His Girls!

One night Anthony was sitting on the bed with all of his girls and I just had to take a picture! Poor lone man! All alone with not a boy around! He sure loves his little girlies though!

Blahh

So I know I haven't posted a whole lot in the last little while. I really haven't been in the mood. Which is odd for me. It's not that I have been ultra busy or have really had anything else going on, I just haven't felt like it. I am so in need of some SG sun shine! We were supposed to go last Friday but some things delayed us in going.

It's funny, Anthony has been on break from school for one week now, and he is mega bored! Just this morning he rolled over and said to me,
"We need to get out of here don't we?"
and I said, "Huh?"
and he said "We need to get out of here. Don't we?"
and I said "Again, I say... Huh?"
To me, he could have meant a dozen different things: We need to get out of bed, we should have gone to SG already, but he meant moving. I started to laugh because he is so bored sense he's been out of school. And it's only been one week!
I rolled over and said to him,
"Honey, this is my life, this is what I do. I do the same things over and over everyday with not much variation. Can you now see why I get bored?"

I think for the first time he is realizing why I complain, from time to time, about living up here. I miss my family, I miss my friends. It will be nice when we can finally move back home. Whenever that might be. On a better note, and the reason I started this post....I lost three pounds! Only 17 more to go!
