I don't want to drive up to the pearly gates in a shiny sports car, wearing beautifully, tailored clothes, my hair expertly coiffed, and with long perfectly manicured fingernails. I want to drive up in a station wagon that has mud on the wheels from taking kids to scout camp. I want to be there with grass stains on my shoes from mowing Sister Schenck's lawn. I want to be there with a smudge of peanut butter on my shirt from making sandwiches for a sick neighbor's children. I want to be there with a little dirl under my fingernails from helping to weed someone's garden. I want to be there with children's sticky kisses on my cheeks and tears of a friend on my shoulder. I want the Lord to know I was really here and that I really lived."

6 1/2 Months

Am I married to a black man?

Last week Anthony replaced the brakes and a motor mount on our car. At one point he came into the house to ask me something and I had to ask,
'Am I married to a black man?'
He was so black from grease. I wish I could have gotten a picture of his face but he was way under the car and getting annoyed that I was taking pictures of him.
On another note...
I am so thankful that I have a husband that knows his way around cars. He has saved us thousands of dollars through the years. I also know that there is no way the 'big blue boat' aka Bessie, would have made it this many years, and as much as I complain about her, she has gotten us through our college years. Thank you honey for all that you do for us.
Your amazing.

Shoes!

A couple weeks ago, for church, I tried on Alyssa's little shoes and they finally fit! She put her little feet up and wouldn't quite playing with them, she thought they were so neat! I think she may have Grandma Mackley's shoe fetish! Yeah for shoes!

Nate, this post's for you...

I don't know if Anthony was bored, from being home all day, and feeling domestic or if he really was just that hungry. When I got home, from Tiffany's house, at 5 o'clock today, my nose was treated to wonderful smells coming from the kitchen! My first words were, 'What is Daddy doing?' When I came around the corner I was a little confused. I thought that he was just chopping potatoes but once I got closer I saw the corn boiling, the pressure cooker being filled for mashed potatoes and when I went to grab the pork chops out of the fridge, they were gone. I asked him where they were and he said, 'they're in the microwave.' My first thought was, 'oh no, he cooked them in the microwave.' But I was wrong. He had shake and baked 'um and cooked them in the oven. They were staying warm in the microwave! I couldn't believe it. So... I didn't say a word. I just let him do it, and enjoyed my night off from cooking!

Bear Lake

Last weekend my Aunt Shirlene called and invited us to go to the lake with them. We had a blast! It has been way to long since we have seen them. They brought along their boat and Sea Doo's and Anthony had his first ride on a Sea Doo! It was so fun! Now we just need to talk Dad Vick into buying some!

~
Hailey thought that the Sea Doo's were fun to sit on, but we were afraid that she would get one of them started. (all you have to do is push a red button)
Anthony Chillaxin'!

What a great time we had! Thank you Shirlene for inviting us, we need to do it again. Maybe Yellowstone. Soon!

Around Salt Lake City

After we finished sanding the people of 'this is the place' gave all of the kids a wrist band and told them they could go ride the ponies over at the barn.

After we left the monument park, we went to lunch at the Lion House Pantry. Then we headed over to the Joseph Smith Memorial building.

Service Project

Saturday morning we all woke up and headed down to Salt Lake to 'This is the place' monument park. We had a service project planned and when we got there we found out that we were going to sand down the stairs on the pine valley church replica so that they could repaint it.

Happy Birthday

Friday morning we got up and took down our camp. After we were done, the girls went home and some of the boys (Anthony, uncle TC, Eric and Ian) stayed to go boating. Later that night we had a little birthday party for Grandma and Charity. (Their birthdays are this week)
