I don't want to drive up to the pearly gates in a shiny sports car, wearing beautifully, tailored clothes, my hair expertly coiffed, and with long perfectly manicured fingernails. I want to drive up in a station wagon that has mud on the wheels from taking kids to scout camp. I want to be there with grass stains on my shoes from mowing Sister Schenck's lawn. I want to be there with a smudge of peanut butter on my shirt from making sandwiches for a sick neighbor's children. I want to be there with a little dirl under my fingernails from helping to weed someone's garden. I want to be there with children's sticky kisses on my cheeks and tears of a friend on my shoulder. I want the Lord to know I was really here and that I really lived."

Hailey's Birthday Party!

For Hailey's birthday we had a tea party. It was lots of fun! We had little flower shaped sandwiches, chips, pink lemonade, a veggie platter and a fruit platter. For her cake we had pink snowballs! It all tasted so good.

Hailey also got a pretty bracelet, a coloring book with crayons, some peeps, and a package a neon glow bracelets.

When Hailey saw what we gave her she exclaimed, 'A Lightening McQueen!' It didn't dawn on us that if you have two of the same toy with the same remote control that you can't play with them anywhere near each other or the one remote counteracts the other remote and neither stupid toy will move! What the heck do we do now?!

What's A Mom To Do?

When Hailey came up to me and said 'Mom, come look at my pichure!,' (picture) I had no idea that I would be so mad! She and Ashlynn had been coloring up to the table and I guess she decided that her paper was to small because she drew a huge person next to the bathroom door. (yes, that is how she draws her people, minus the eyes mouth and nose) Of course I wasn't so mad I forgot to snap a picture before I made her scrub it off the wall. It really was the perfect photo opportunity for her everyday behavior. She is always making some kind of mess that is just a little on the disastrous side!

Alyssa!

My sweet Baby girl is two months old today. Where has the time gone? It feels like yesterday a nurse laid her on my chest and I looked into her tiny pink face. Her little tiny toes and fingers are now chubby from Momma's milk and her cooing and smiles brighten up my day. I wonder how it is that a mother could fall so in love with such a little thing, but then all I have to do is look at her and I remember.

I think it"s so funny! Ashlynn, I guess, feels like she's getting older. It's sad really. She thinks somethings are for babies. Things she liked, I swear, last month. She wants to 'pose' for the camera now, not just smile, and she purses up her mouth like in the picture below. And not just for pictures, mind you! She does it when she is trying not to laugh because she's to big and doesn't want you to think that she likes that your paying attention to her, or she does it when she's trying not to laugh. What is happening to my little girl?

Thanks Grandma Vick!

Grandma Vick sent Ashlynn a pachage for her birthday and then we decided that we were coming down to St. George, so Ashlynn didn't get it until we came back a week later. She was so excited when we got home! And let me tell you, she was so excited when she saw what it was! She now has her very own baby doll that will cry and when you give it a pacifier, it stops crying and makes a sucking noise! Let me just tell you, Anthony wanted to scream!! He said, "My Mother is trying to kill me from 400 miles away." But Ashlynn loves it! I think that the blanket that Grandma sent with it made it even more special! Ashlynn wraps all of her dollies in it, and Grandma Vick made it just for that! Thanks Grandma Vick!

Grandma Vick's Amaryllis!

Grandma Vick's Amaryllis was in bloom while we were down there seeing them. I guess the only bloom once a year, around Christmas time. It was so gorgeous!

I tried to take a pretty picture of the girls next to it but they wouldn't quit moving! Mostly it was just Hailey that wouldn't stop. She's so silly!

Visiting Heidi!

I was also able to go and visit Heidi while being down in St. George. The kids played dress up and jumped on the tramp. When it started to rain out side they came in and watched a movie while they had pop corn, gummy worms, chocolate covered pretzel fish, and other yummy treats! I can't wait to move back so we can have more fun days hanging out with all the kids! (Heidi's two baby boys were sleeping)

St. George

While in St. George my Aunt Anette & Uncle Ron were having their mission farewell so I was able to see not only my whole family, but all of my Aunts, Uncles, and cousins as well! It was so good to see everyone and be there to support my 'Aunt Net!'

Happy Birthday Ashlynn!

On the morning of Ashlynn's birthday Anthony asked if we wanted to go to St. George for Valentines Day! Of course we did!! So he headed for his class and the girls and I started to pack! When we got there we had dinner and Anthony's mom decided that we needed to get a birthday cake for Ashlynn. (She was feeling so bad because she had sent Ashlynn a present in the mail and we left before it came.) So, we headed to Dairy Queen.

Ashlynn wanted the red rose on the cake and of course Grandma gave in! Her tongue was so red!!

Happy Birthday Ash!

Ashlynn's Birthday Party!

Ashlynn's party really snuck up on me this year, but we managed to throw a little party together in time! The kids played Duck Duck Goose for a little while and then decorated sugar cookies. It was a big mess but they had lots of fun!

By then all of the kids wanted to open Ashlynn's presents so they gathered around in a circle to watch.

Daddy came home and gave Ashlynn her present from us. Of course she got her red race car, and was thrilled about it!

After presents we sang Happy Birthday to Ashlynn and she blew out her candle!

Happy birthday Ash! I can't believe how grown up you are. We love you so much. You are such a special girl!

Anthony's Valentine!

So, like all of you know, we're broke college students, so this year for Valentine's Day I went the cheesy inexpensive way when it came to making Anthony a gift. But I still think it turned out cute. Isn't Valentine's Day all about pouring on the cheese anyway?!! So I went to the store, picked through all of the candy bars, bought some shish kabob sticks and got to work! I put one of the sticks into each of the candy bars, filled the vase up with hugs and kisses. Then I placed each stick around in the vase and attached this poem:

My Dearest Sugar Baby,
Happy Valentine’s Day! I love you so much!
Our love is worth more than a 100 Grand.
Even though our marriage is a Rock Road at times,
we have also had Mounds of (almond) Joy.
Our Good-N-Plenty life together, and with the kids,
is better than shopping on 5th Avenue on Pay Day.
Even though we have both gotten a little Chunky
along the way, U-NO I think you’re a Big Hunk! You
are my Bit-O-Honey, and don’t Snicker, but there are
more stars in my eyes for you than in the Milky Way!

Hugs and Kisses,
Chelsey Ann

I also attached two tickets to the Vick Family Theater!

And made him this card:

Hope he likes it!

You're Invited!

I can't believe my little girl is going to be 5! Tonight we made up some invitations to give to her friends around the neighborhood and at pre-school! Earlier today I asked Ashlynn what she wanted for her birthday, thinking she would tell me that she wanted to get her ears pierced, and to my surprise she told me that she wanted a red race car! Who's girl is she anyway!! I asked her about getting earrings and she told me this:

Ashlynn: 'I want race car earrings.'

Mom: 'You want earrings that are race cars?!!'

Ashlynn: 'No, I want earrings and a red race car.'

Dad: 'Oh I don't know if you can have both.'

Hailey: (with hand on hip) 'Oh, yes she can dad.'

Dad: 'I don't know, and who's going to buy it? I'm the one with the money.'

~this is where Anthony got glares from all three of us and I'm sure that if Alyssa had been awake for this conversation, she would have given him the death stare as well. Luckily for him the nurse at the doctors office called us back or he would have gotten an ear full too!~ We'll see what she does get! Probably earrings from Mom, and a race car from Dad! Wish you could all be here!

(her birthday is actually on Friday the 13th but becasue it's valentines weekend we decided to bump her birthday party up a day)

Finally!

I'm finally getting around to making a birth announcement! Here it is!!

If Only...

.........the world could be this simple!

This is a poem that my nephew wrote! I thought it was great!

Hailey's New Haircut!

When Grandma & Grandpa Mackley were up here in January Hailey got a hold of the scissors and chopped a huge chunk of her hair off. We were going to wait until March to have Aunt Lisa fix it, but I couldn't wait! It was impossible to do her hair! Everyday she would get cereal or yogurt or something else equally sticky in it and when it came time to comb it, it was a nightmare. She would scream her head off, and I wasn't about to wash her hair three or four times a day. So against Anthony's wishes, (sorry honey) I cut it myself! I think it looks cute! We'll just have to have Aunt Lisa even it up, if she will! After I cut it Hailey said, 'ohh, I look like a princess!' I think she does too!

Meet Scarlett & Bubba!

That's right, we have new fish! Shortly after we got the new black moor goldfish it spread a parasite called the Super Ick and both of our fish died. (Kate was right, it was a good thing I didn't name the black moor Edward.) So Anthony got on the phone, called Pet Smart and they agreed to let us come and exchange the dead fish for something new. After much thought we decided that we wanted more goldfish. Me and the girls picked the silver goldfish and named her Scarlett because she has a red circle on her head only, most of the other silver gold fish had red in more than one spot. Anthony picked out the orange gold fish and decided on naming it Bubba after himself! So here they are! Scarlett & Bubba!
