I don't want to drive up to the pearly gates in a shiny sports car, wearing beautifully, tailored clothes, my hair expertly coiffed, and with long perfectly manicured fingernails. I want to drive up in a station wagon that has mud on the wheels from taking kids to scout camp. I want to be there with grass stains on my shoes from mowing Sister Schenck's lawn. I want to be there with a smudge of peanut butter on my shirt from making sandwiches for a sick neighbor's children. I want to be there with a little dirl under my fingernails from helping to weed someone's garden. I want to be there with children's sticky kisses on my cheeks and tears of a friend on my shoulder. I want the Lord to know I was really here and that I really lived."

Ashlynn's Birthday Party!

Ashlynn's party really snuck up on me this year, but we managed to throw a little party together in time! The kids played Duck Duck Goose for a little while and then decorated sugar cookies. It was a big mess but they had lots of fun!

By then all of the kids wanted to open Ashlynn's presents so they gathered around in a circle to watch.

Daddy came home and gave Ashlynn her present from us. Of course she got her red race car, and was thrilled about it!

After presents we sang Happy Birthday to Ashlynn and she blew out her candle!

Happy birthday Ash! I can't believe how grown up you are. We love you so much. You are such a special girl!

That picture of Anthony holding Ashlynn and the red race car makes me laugh so hard. Anthony tries to pretend he's a hard nosed Dad but he got his little girl just what she wanted! Look at her face! She's so excited. Anthony just admit it... those little girls have you wrapped around their little finger.
