I don't want to drive up to the pearly gates in a shiny sports car, wearing beautifully, tailored clothes, my hair expertly coiffed, and with long perfectly manicured fingernails. I want to drive up in a station wagon that has mud on the wheels from taking kids to scout camp. I want to be there with grass stains on my shoes from mowing Sister Schenck's lawn. I want to be there with a smudge of peanut butter on my shirt from making sandwiches for a sick neighbor's children. I want to be there with a little dirl under my fingernails from helping to weed someone's garden. I want to be there with children's sticky kisses on my cheeks and tears of a friend on my shoulder. I want the Lord to know I was really here and that I really lived."

Anthony's Valentine!

So, like all of you know, we're broke college students, so this year for Valentine's Day I went the cheesy inexpensive way when it came to making Anthony a gift. But I still think it turned out cute. Isn't Valentine's Day all about pouring on the cheese anyway?!! So I went to the store, picked through all of the candy bars, bought some shish kabob sticks and got to work! I put one of the sticks into each of the candy bars, filled the vase up with hugs and kisses. Then I placed each stick around in the vase and attached this poem:

My Dearest Sugar Baby,
Happy Valentine’s Day! I love you so much!
Our love is worth more than a 100 Grand.
Even though our marriage is a Rock Road at times,
we have also had Mounds of (almond) Joy.
Our Good-N-Plenty life together, and with the kids,
is better than shopping on 5th Avenue on Pay Day.
Even though we have both gotten a little Chunky
along the way, U-NO I think you’re a Big Hunk! You
are my Bit-O-Honey, and don’t Snicker, but there are
more stars in my eyes for you than in the Milky Way!

Hugs and Kisses,
Chelsey Ann

I also attached two tickets to the Vick Family Theater!

And made him this card:

Hope he likes it!

Pouring on the "cheese"! It made me laugh so hard. It's such a cute idea! I hope Anthony knows what a great wife he has...I'm sure he does. I haven't even thought of ANYTHING for my poor hubby! It shouldn't be hard though, I know what he really wants. I don't really need to get creative, unless I want to. Hahaha!

PS. Are the movie tickets for him to see "Your Show"?! ;)

What a great idea. I am also scratching my head. This will be my first Valentines that I accually get to get as creative as I want. :)
