I don't want to drive up to the pearly gates in a shiny sports car, wearing beautifully, tailored clothes, my hair expertly coiffed, and with long perfectly manicured fingernails. I want to drive up in a station wagon that has mud on the wheels from taking kids to scout camp. I want to be there with grass stains on my shoes from mowing Sister Schenck's lawn. I want to be there with a smudge of peanut butter on my shirt from making sandwiches for a sick neighbor's children. I want to be there with a little dirl under my fingernails from helping to weed someone's garden. I want to be there with children's sticky kisses on my cheeks and tears of a friend on my shoulder. I want the Lord to know I was really here and that I really lived."

Fun Things.

Over the last month I have been buying some new things to update the house.
First I started with this kitchen organizer that Anthony & I made at his shop...

Then I bought a new rug
and a few days later Anthony & I found a great deal on this new couch.
My curtains were brown before and there was just way to much brown in one room so...
I bought these new red curtains
and the red throw pillows for the couch.

Looking at the couch I decided that there were to many solid colors in the room
so I found this material and made these pillows for a little contrast of interest.
And they cost me under $6 to make!
I used the stuffing from some brown pillows that I had on my old couch.
I think they turned out cute!

Then...
I got to thinking that since I had updated my kitchen
and my living room
that I really needed to do something in my room.
Our old bedspread was brown and green
and just pain dark
so I decided that I would do something light and cheery,...
this is what I decided on.
Now I just need to find the right curtains to go with to pull it all together,...
and maybe a few contrasting throw pillows.
Aside from all of my projects,
Heidi came over a few times last week
and her little boy Camden and Alyssa are little lovers!
They are so dang cute together.
They love to hide anywhere they can find a spot.
This time we found them hiding in the cupboard in the girls room.
Another time we found them in the closet.
Every time we find them they giggle like crazy and Alyssa says 'pee-a-boo.'
{peek-a-boo}
I love them!

And finally,
I have posted the rest of the pictures from Ashlynn's first day of 1st grade.
This is her getting off the bus.
She had so much fun.

This is Alyssa waiting to pick Ash up from the bus...
And this is Hailey...
And these are her new shoes.
She picked them out all by her self at Kohls!
{Good thing they were on sale for only $4}

Over all life has been pretty good to us lately. We have been so blessed. Anthony loves his job and is excited to get out the door in the morning {which is also lucky because that's at seven in the morning}. Ashlynn loves going to school everyday and loves her homework. Hailey is having fun getting to know Alyssa better {now that Ashlynn is at school all day Hailey and Alyssa play a lot more than they did before. it's been good for their bonding.} Alyssa talks and talks. There is nothing that she can't say anymore. She still takes a 2 hour nap {lucky for me} and wakes up as perky as ever, and I have loved being able to be Mommy and be home during the days. I am glad that Summer semester is over and that I only have 2 classes this semester. They are on Tuesday and Thursday night which seems to be working out really great! I'll let you know how I feel in a few more weeks...
