I don't want to drive up to the pearly gates in a shiny sports car, wearing beautifully, tailored clothes, my hair expertly coiffed, and with long perfectly manicured fingernails. I want to drive up in a station wagon that has mud on the wheels from taking kids to scout camp. I want to be there with grass stains on my shoes from mowing Sister Schenck's lawn. I want to be there with a smudge of peanut butter on my shirt from making sandwiches for a sick neighbor's children. I want to be there with a little dirl under my fingernails from helping to weed someone's garden. I want to be there with children's sticky kisses on my cheeks and tears of a friend on my shoulder. I want the Lord to know I was really here and that I really lived."

pine valley. july 2012.

Pine Valley is my heaven on earth. I think that the heaven I came from must have been similar to the Pine Valley mountains and I somehow remember it. I can't wait for the camping months to start and I wish we went more often and that babies weren't such a poop when you camp at night. 1 more year and Aiden will be over that stage! Then camping over night will be fun again!

Aiden about 9 months old.

Alyssa about 3 1/2.

Bryson loves Aiden. Well, he loves little kids. I love that about him.

Aiden got lots of treats.
First it was a cookie...

Then it was a sucker.

Then he was tired and had to take a nap in Grandma Mackley's tent trailer.
This is him just waking up.
Such a cute little bug!

He was still tired though and didn't want to get up quite yet. Plus, I think he was interested in checking the trailer out.

Then his sisters found out he was awake.
