I don't want to drive up to the pearly gates in a shiny sports car, wearing beautifully, tailored clothes, my hair expertly coiffed, and with long perfectly manicured fingernails. I want to drive up in a station wagon that has mud on the wheels from taking kids to scout camp. I want to be there with grass stains on my shoes from mowing Sister Schenck's lawn. I want to be there with a smudge of peanut butter on my shirt from making sandwiches for a sick neighbor's children. I want to be there with a little dirl under my fingernails from helping to weed someone's garden. I want to be there with children's sticky kisses on my cheeks and tears of a friend on my shoulder. I want the Lord to know I was really here and that I really lived."

Fathers Day {finally}

For Father's Day I thought that I would make Anthony a big breakfast in bed but then I thought, if it were me, I'd rather sleep in and then eat! So the girls & I let Anthony sleep in and then we took him to breakfast at IHOP (this was on Saturday morning). On Friday, I went to the store looking for some little gift we could give him. Now, I know he'd rather have a new power tool, or a new nine iron, but I am not about to guess what kind he likes, so.... I settled for a red tie and then headed over to the card section. Usually for Fathers Day and his birthday I sit down and make him a card or write something really sentimental in one I've bought, but this year I found the PERFECT card that says just what I'm feeling! Soo, here it is.......

MY HUSBAND
is a man of character
who understands commitment
and does more than his share
to make his family comfortable,
safe, and secure.
I adore him...

MY PARTNER
is a man who is patient,
optimistic, caring, and wise.
His sense of humor and support
hold me up when I can't do it myself.
I'm grateful for him...

MY FRIEND
is the only man with whom I can share
my deepest secrets
and know they'll be safe.
Time with him is always good.
I cherish him.

Honey, You are all of those things and more to me. I am so thankful you came into my world, for if you hadn't, I'm sure I never would have known the kind of happiness you've brought into my life. I love you. Happy Father's Day! Love, Chelsey

That is a great card. I never find good ones like that so I attempt to do them myself. The girls looks so cute!
