As I mentioned before the girls all got sick. While we were down in SG they picked up a cold and seemed to be getting better but then Hailey got croup. Luckily I had medicine for in so that went away really fast but she still has a cough. Alyssa was sick and tired all week. She just couldn't seem to get feeling better and started in on a really high fever. Ashlynn also had a pretty impressive fever so I made all of them an appointment with the Doc. I guess I was worried because we had just received the H1N1 flu vaccine the day before. Anyway, he told us that it was just a virus, but I still felt that was weird because I have never had the girls get a cold and then a week later, have the fever. It seems that the fever always comes before the cold.
Am I remembering right?
So we went home. The next morning I realized that Alyssa hadn't peed all night and come to think of it, hadn't peed all the day before. So I called the Doc.
Again.
I told the nurse on the phone that I was worried that Alyssa was either dehydrated or that she had a UTI. So I had to go to her appointment 45 min. early to get a U-Bag put on her and we waited around for her to pee. Boy is that fun! When se finally peed they were able to see that she definitely had something going on so they prescribed her Omnicef and sent us on our merry way.
All that night she was up feeling horrible. The next day she seemed a little better but the next day, Sunday, 45 min after her first dose in the morning, she started getting a rash all over her belly. At first I thought it was a reaction to a new detergent so I bathed her and changed her clothes and then proceeded to wash all of the clothes that I had washed in the new detergent. When she woke up from her nap the rash had spread so Anthony and i decided that she needed to go to the insta care.
Come to find out she is allergic to Omnicef. So the Doc at the insta care prescribed her Augmentin. The next day after her first dose in the morning she starts with a rash again. This time I was able to call her pediatricians office. After much debate we all decided that it was better to switch her medicine to something totally different.
Again.
My poor sweet baby. I feel like she had been the ginny pig. Today she seems to be feeling fine. Hopefully the new medicine will work and we can get back to figure out why she got the UTI in the first place.
