I don't want to drive up to the pearly gates in a shiny sports car, wearing beautifully, tailored clothes, my hair expertly coiffed, and with long perfectly manicured fingernails. I want to drive up in a station wagon that has mud on the wheels from taking kids to scout camp. I want to be there with grass stains on my shoes from mowing Sister Schenck's lawn. I want to be there with a smudge of peanut butter on my shirt from making sandwiches for a sick neighbor's children. I want to be there with a little dirl under my fingernails from helping to weed someone's garden. I want to be there with children's sticky kisses on my cheeks and tears of a friend on my shoulder. I want the Lord to know I was really here and that I really lived."

My Sleepy Bug

Alyssa loves her blankets.
It doesn't matter what one it is,
she just loves something to cuddle,
and when she sleeps,
she likes to cover her face with it.
None of my other girls ever did this.
I think it's so cute.

She's such a sweet little thing.

I accidentally woke her up taking these pictures...
(And it was worth it.)
Later,
as I was cooking dinner,
Ashlynn took a PURPLE marker to Alyssa.
Boy was she in trouble!
But I guess I wasn't mad enough to wipe it off right away
because here she is,
asleep in her high chair.
(which I put her in so I could finish dinner while keeping an eye on her.)

Poor things gonna get tough.

Haha! Did Ash say why she was painting her sister's face?? I love to snuggle in blanket too. It's one of my favorite things. Pajama's and cuddly blankets make me oh so happy.

PS. I love that she pulls the blankets over her face. It's so cute!
