I don't want to drive up to the pearly gates in a shiny sports car, wearing beautifully, tailored clothes, my hair expertly coiffed, and with long perfectly manicured fingernails. I want to drive up in a station wagon that has mud on the wheels from taking kids to scout camp. I want to be there with grass stains on my shoes from mowing Sister Schenck's lawn. I want to be there with a smudge of peanut butter on my shirt from making sandwiches for a sick neighbor's children. I want to be there with a little dirl under my fingernails from helping to weed someone's garden. I want to be there with children's sticky kisses on my cheeks and tears of a friend on my shoulder. I want the Lord to know I was really here and that I really lived."

You're Invited!

I can't believe my little girl is going to be 5! Tonight we made up some invitations to give to her friends around the neighborhood and at pre-school! Earlier today I asked Ashlynn what she wanted for her birthday, thinking she would tell me that she wanted to get her ears pierced, and to my surprise she told me that she wanted a red race car! Who's girl is she anyway!! I asked her about getting earrings and she told me this:

Ashlynn: 'I want race car earrings.'

Mom: 'You want earrings that are race cars?!!'

Ashlynn: 'No, I want earrings and a red race car.'

Dad: 'Oh I don't know if you can have both.'

Hailey: (with hand on hip) 'Oh, yes she can dad.'

Dad: 'I don't know, and who's going to buy it? I'm the one with the money.'

~this is where Anthony got glares from all three of us and I'm sure that if Alyssa had been awake for this conversation, she would have given him the death stare as well. Luckily for him the nurse at the doctors office called us back or he would have gotten an ear full too!~ We'll see what she does get! Probably earrings from Mom, and a race car from Dad! Wish you could all be here!

(her birthday is actually on Friday the 13th but becasue it's valentines weekend we decided to bump her birthday party up a day)

Finally!

I'm finally getting around to making a birth announcement! Here it is!!

If Only...

.........the world could be this simple!

This is a poem that my nephew wrote! I thought it was great!

Hailey's New Haircut!

When Grandma & Grandpa Mackley were up here in January Hailey got a hold of the scissors and chopped a huge chunk of her hair off. We were going to wait until March to have Aunt Lisa fix it, but I couldn't wait! It was impossible to do her hair! Everyday she would get cereal or yogurt or something else equally sticky in it and when it came time to comb it, it was a nightmare. She would scream her head off, and I wasn't about to wash her hair three or four times a day. So against Anthony's wishes, (sorry honey) I cut it myself! I think it looks cute! We'll just have to have Aunt Lisa even it up, if she will! After I cut it Hailey said, 'ohh, I look like a princess!' I think she does too!

Meet Scarlett & Bubba!

That's right, we have new fish! Shortly after we got the new black moor goldfish it spread a parasite called the Super Ick and both of our fish died. (Kate was right, it was a good thing I didn't name the black moor Edward.) So Anthony got on the phone, called Pet Smart and they agreed to let us come and exchange the dead fish for something new. After much thought we decided that we wanted more goldfish. Me and the girls picked the silver goldfish and named her Scarlett because she has a red circle on her head only, most of the other silver gold fish had red in more than one spot. Anthony picked out the orange gold fish and decided on naming it Bubba after himself! So here they are! Scarlett & Bubba!
