I don't want to drive up to the pearly gates in a shiny sports car, wearing beautifully, tailored clothes, my hair expertly coiffed, and with long perfectly manicured fingernails. I want to drive up in a station wagon that has mud on the wheels from taking kids to scout camp. I want to be there with grass stains on my shoes from mowing Sister Schenck's lawn. I want to be there with a smudge of peanut butter on my shirt from making sandwiches for a sick neighbor's children. I want to be there with a little dirl under my fingernails from helping to weed someone's garden. I want to be there with children's sticky kisses on my cheeks and tears of a friend on my shoulder. I want the Lord to know I was really here and that I really lived."

2011 Trip to Ephraim

Aug 29 - July 1st Anthony had a conference up in Ephraim.  Ephraim is THE SMALLEST town.  I really think that is Snow's College wasn't there, they wouldn't survive! Really.

Anyway, it was beautiful and the weather was GORGEOUS.  The girls and I had fun driving around while Anthony was in meetings.
One of the nights we were there, we told them that after we ate we would go walk around the Manti temple, which was only 5 miles or so away.  On our way there it POURED with rain. We couldn't see the cars right in front of us for a while.

The Manti temple is so beautiful.  It is amazing up there on that hill.  We never did get to walk around it though.  The rain wouldn't stop.  Some day I would love to go through it.

We, as a family, don't eat out much so that was probably the funnest thing for the girls.  I think they thought it was pretty awesome getting to eat out so much and being able to stay in a hotel!
{I have NO idea where Hailey was in these photos.}
After we left Ephraim we headed up to Kaysville to help Belinda and her family pack their house up.  They moved to Virginia for Scott's new job.  We miss them already.
All in all it was a fun family vacation.  The girls have never stayed in a Hotel before and it was good to get away before Anthony started a new school year of teaching.  I think that we need to do something like that with them every year.

This is just a random picture of Alyssa.
What a cutie.

Redecorating.

I redecorated the girls bedroom.  We were going to take them to Disney Land but I caught Influenza B and a few days later so did Ashlynn.  We just didn't want to chance anyone else getting it while we were out of town.  We also bought them a Wii.

This is a  picture of part of their room.  I am not finished with everything.

These are the pillows that I took the colors for the room from.

This is Hailey's name after I got it painted. Ashlynn's is done too, I just need to hang it up and take a picture of it!

March was a good month.  We all got feeling better and the weather was PERFECT!  I have such a great family.

Valentines Day. {2011}

Anthony suprised me with the most beautiful flowers he's ever given me!  He did such a good job picking them out, don't you think?!

Later we went out to dinner together and then to get frozen yogurt.  Then we went shopping.  ALONE!  It was wonderful!

Hailey's birthday party! {March 1st}

I was planning on having a really big birthday party, for Hailey, like Ashlynn had, but on the day of her birthday I just wasn't feeling right. I told Anthony that I thought we needed to do something for her today, and not just wait for the weekend, so we took her and her sisters to McDonald's and then over to her cousins house to have cake and ice cream. It's a good thing we decided to do that because on the Friday that I was going to have her "big" birthday party with all her friends, I ended up in the ER!

The girls playing in the McDonald's Play Place.

After the girls ate and played, we headed over to their cousins house {David and Lisa's} to eat cake and ice cream.  Hailey was going to have a Tangled birthday party so I bought here a Tangled cake.  It was so cute.

Hailey blowing out her candles... or I guess trying!

Even though she only spent her birthday party with family and cousins, it was still a fun day.

Hailey, I am so proud of you and cannot believe how "grown up" you are.  You seem to learn something new everyday.
I love you Hailey girl!

Ashlynn's Birthday! {Feb. 13th}

Ashlynn's 7th birthday was so much fun!  We borrowed Aunt Joy's decorations and had a blast!  I can't believe she is 7 now, and next year she will be getting baptised.  I love you Ash!

This is her cake!  Actually it was a bunch of cupcakes.  It turned out so cute.  The party favors included earrings, rings, little drawing pads,  diva dog tag necklaces, and a CD that I made, full of all the diva rock music that Ashlynn loves right now.

The table turned out absolutely awesome!  Thanks Joy for letting me use all your stuff!

We also had a makeup table where we did the girls hair and makeup.  They got to sit in the makeup chair and be pampered. What a girls dream!

Then the girls got to have a fashion show!  It was a blast.  They had fun rockin' to the music and struttin' their stuff!

Another pic of the table before the girls sat down to eat.

All of the girls that were able to make it to Ashlynn's birthday party.

Eating like a queen!

Boy was I tired when that party was over!  Phew!
