I don't want to drive up to the pearly gates in a shiny sports car, wearing beautifully, tailored clothes, my hair expertly coiffed, and with long perfectly manicured fingernails. I want to drive up in a station wagon that has mud on the wheels from taking kids to scout camp. I want to be there with grass stains on my shoes from mowing Sister Schenck's lawn. I want to be there with a smudge of peanut butter on my shirt from making sandwiches for a sick neighbor's children. I want to be there with a little dirl under my fingernails from helping to weed someone's garden. I want to be there with children's sticky kisses on my cheeks and tears of a friend on my shoulder. I want the Lord to know I was really here and that I really lived."

a visit to melissa's

Since Melissa is getting married on July 11th and we won't be able to make it, we decided to go up on the 4th and see her. I never got a picture of Chad, her fiance, but if you look closely in this first picture, you can see him in the mirror! Pretty cool huh? Melissa and Chad live in Park City. I had only been there once before and had forgotten how gorgeous it is. What a lucky girl to get to live up there. I should have gotten a picture of the view they have, it's heavenly! We also got to see Skip & Lori while we were there. I forgot how funny they are! Great times! The girls ran around after Melissa's dog, Abby, all day long. It was her first birthday and I think she thought we were there just for her! She's one spoiled little pup! So cute! Melissa bought the girls the head bands they're wearing, painted their faces and put hair mascara in their hair. I'm not sure who was more tired when we finally left... Abby, the girls or Mellisa! Anyway, it was good to see them all. We'll definitely have to go back when Chad is off duty!
