I don't want to drive up to the pearly gates in a shiny sports car, wearing beautifully, tailored clothes, my hair expertly coiffed, and with long perfectly manicured fingernails. I want to drive up in a station wagon that has mud on the wheels from taking kids to scout camp. I want to be there with grass stains on my shoes from mowing Sister Schenck's lawn. I want to be there with a smudge of peanut butter on my shirt from making sandwiches for a sick neighbor's children. I want to be there with a little dirl under my fingernails from helping to weed someone's garden. I want to be there with children's sticky kisses on my cheeks and tears of a friend on my shoulder. I want the Lord to know I was really here and that I really lived."

Thanksgiving Day! (11~27)

I really can't believe that I only took 2 pictures on Thanksgiving Day! First we went over to Mom Mackley's house and helped Mom get ready for Lunch. We ate with them and hung out for a while then headed over to the Vick's to eat agian! Every year we eat twice! I don't knw how we do it but by the end of the day we are sooo stuffed!

Pie Making With The Vick's! (11~26)

This year, because of construction at the Vicks, we made pies at Lizzie's house! Boy was it a blast! I got to enjoy my 3 sister-in-law's very own Broadway show. Right in Lizz's kitchen! They put on the sound track to Momma Mia and sang their little guts out! It was hilarious!
As for pie making, it was serious stuff. We made a total of 9 pumpkin chiffon, 2 coconut cream, 1 apple, 1 cherry, and 1 lemon merrang. And guess what part I did?! I HAND mixed all of the pumpkin chiffon, and coconut cream pies. That's a total of 11! But... the best part is, each pie called for 2 pudding mixes! That's 22 pudding mixes mixed by hand! It wasn't until the last pie that someone finally said, "Why aren't you using electric beaters?" That's a dang good question!

Pie Making With The Mackley's! (11~25)

This year making pies was fun! It was Jana's first year getting to make pies with us because she's normally at work. The only bummer was that Cindy wasn't able to be there to help. (we missed you Cindy) Even though I don't eat pie, I have decided that each year I would try and make one. Last year I made a pumpkin chiffon with graham cracker crust, and of course I tried it. It was really pretty good! (for pie) This year I decided to try apple. Now, the biggest reason I don't like pie is because of the crust. I hate it. So I made it with a really thin bottom crust and topped it with the stuff you put on apple crisp. It turned out really good too. Maybe I need to stop making them the way I would actually eat them! Next year I'm not exactly sure what I'll try because I hate the taste of pumpkin and I hate cherries! Humm, I guess we'll have to wait and see.

Oh No! (11~22)

Can you say Grandma Lilly?! She is the only Grandma on my Dad's side that I remember. She was great! Every time we would go over to Grandpa Mackley's house, Grandma Lilly would pull money out of this really old glass doll head that was supposed to hold a plant, (i think) and give us each a dollar. But the biggest thing we all remember her for was her BRIGHT pink lipstick that was all over the place! She was just adorable!! Hailey got into Grandma Mackley's make-up! Pink lipstick and blue eye shadow! Maybe Grandma should start putting her make-up out of sight when Hailey comes to visit. She's already ruined 2 tubes of lipstick!

Vick Family Pictures!

While we were down in St. George for Thanksgiving 2008, Cindy took pictures of the whole Vick family! It is the first family picture, in years, that everyone was able to be together. The only person that was missing was Raymond. The pictures turned out great! Cindy does such a great job! I actually turned 26 today so Cindy took a picture of just me. Pregnant and all! 26 and almost 3 kids! WOW!
